frequently asked questions
What types of storm damage do you clean up in Nassau County?
We handle a wide range of storm-related debris and damage, including:
Fallen tree limbs and branches (small to medium)
Downed trees (we may refer very large or hazardous trees to specialized tree services)
Scattered debris across lawns, driveways, and patios
Fence panel damage and debris
Shingle or gutter debris from roof damage
Yard flooding sediment and washout (minor)
Post-storm leaf and pine straw accumulation
For structural damage or large trees on homes, we coordinate with emergency services and restoration contractors.
How soon can you respond after a storm?
We aim to respond within 24-48 hours after a storm passes and roads are safe. For major hurricane events, demand is high, and we work in priority order.
In order to provide the best customer service we do prioritize our existing customers but we are always happy to provide our services to new clients.
What's included in a standard storm cleanup visit?
A typical residential storm cleanup includes:
Removal of fallen branches and limbs (cut into manageable lengths)
Raking and collection of scattered debris (leaves, pine straw, small twigs)
Clearing driveways, walkways, and patios
Hauling debris to a single pile for pickup or loading onto our truck
Blowing off hard surfaces
Optional: Haul-away and disposal of debris (additional fee)
We do not typically perform structural repairs, roof tarping, or large tree felling — but we can recommend trusted local partners.
Do you haul away debris or just pile it?
Both options are available:
Pile only: We stack debris neatly at your curb for city or county pickup (Nassau County often provides post-storm debris collection after major events)
Haul away: We load debris onto our truck and dispose of it properly (additional fee based on volume)
After named storms, many homeowners prefer curbside piling to save cost, but we’re happy to haul immediately if needed.
Do I need to be home for storm cleanup?
No. As long as we have safe access to your yard and any gates are unlocked, we’ll complete the work and send you before/after photos.
For safety, we may call if we encounter downed power lines, gas line damage, or other hazards requiring your utility company’s attention.
How much does storm cleanup cost in Nassau County?
Pricing depends on:
Size of property
Volume and type of debris
Number of trees/branches down
Haul-away vs. curbside piling
Emergency vs. standard response
We provide free, no-obligation estimates with photos or in-person visits. For major events, we may offer flat-rate pricing for common cleanup scenarios.
Will you remove a tree that fell on my house?
We remove branches and small trees off roofs when safe to do so. For large trees on structures, we recommend licensed arborists or emergency tree removal specialists with insurance for structural work. We can refer you to trusted partners in Nassau County.
Do you work with insurance claims for storm damage?
We don’t bill insurance directly, but we provide detailed invoices and before/after photos that you can submit to your homeowner’s insurance. Many Nassau County residents successfully claim storm cleanup costs. We’re happy to document thoroughly for your adjuster.
What's the difference between storm cleanup and regular yard clean-up?
| Feature | Storm Cleanup | Regular Yard Clean-up |
|---|---|---|
| Timing | Emergency response | Scheduled |
| Debris type | Branches, limbs, scattered storm debris | Leaves, light pruning |
| Volume | Often large (multiple truckloads) | Small to moderate |
| Haul-away | Often included | Optional |
| Safety focus | Hazards (downed lines, unstable trees) | Routine |
We offer both. If you just need leaves and light debris, see our Lawn Maintenance or Yard Makeovers pages.
Do you remove palm fronds and other tropical storm debris?
Yes. Palm fronds, palmettos, and other tropical vegetation are common storm debris in Nassau County. We cut, collect, and remove or pile them just like tree debris.
Can you help if my yard is flooded after a storm?
We don’t pump water, but we can help after floodwaters recede by:
Removing sediment and silt from lawns
Clearing debris deposited by floodwater
Removing damaged plants or shrubs
Recommending lawn recovery steps (sod repair, soil amendments)
For standing water issues, contact Nassau County Emergency Management or a water damage restoration company.
How do hurricanes in NE Florida affect storm cleanup demand?
Hurricanes (like Ian, Irma, Matthew, Dorian) typically cause:
Widespread tree limb and palm frond debris
Fence damage and scattered yard items
Road blockages requiring priority clearing
Extended cleanup windows (weeks to months)
After named storms, we prioritize:
Elderly and disabled customers
Homes with medical needs
Properties with structural exposure
We serve Nassau County residents year-round but mobilize additional resources for hurricane season (June 1 – November 30).
